FAQ
-WHERE ARE YOU TEACHING PROJECT XY&Z (INSERT PROJECT'S NAME)?
Imagine my class offerings as a menu. I cook up the menu, your friendly local bead store and bead society picks from the menu. Bead retreats and some bead stores sometimes have exclusive projects. Exclusive project means that it's a project I will not teach for up to 6 months after the event is over. Exclusivity may imply how far I would teach the same project too. So you see, I know what is on my menu, but I might not have knowledge really far ahead of what exactly I will teach where, until bead stores and bead societies pick. So how do you find out? Please check out my teaching schedule. Figure out what place is nearest you. Contact them and see what they picked.
-HOW DO I GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU TO TEACH A CLASS?
It depends:
do you own a bead store that hosts national/international bead
instructors? Are you a program chair person of a bead society? Are you organizing a bead retreat? Email me.
My email address is my full name at yahoo dot com. Are you a private
person? Please check out where I teach near you. I do not offer private
classes.
-I AM TRAVELING THROUGH YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS. CAN I COME OVER TO YOUR STUDIO?
I do not have an open studio. The one small room designated to this is part of my and my family's not very large home, and therefore I do not offer studio tours, private meet ups, private sales, private classes. Please check out my schedule for my classes if you'd like to take a class.
- WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS?
They are available to my potential business partners upon request by email. My email is my full name at yahoo dot com.
-ARE YOU OFFERING VIRTUAL CLASSES, RECORDINGS OF YOUR CURRENT CLASSES?
They are in the making. Follow me on Facebook for updates and keep an eye on my etsy store too.
-ARE YOU ON YOUTUBE?
No, I am not. I have done numerous professionally produced videos for Interweave publishing on various subjects relating to bead embroidery. You can purchase them here:
https://www.interweave.com/article/beading/bead-embroidery-kinga-nichols-online-workshops/
Sometimes they have sales.
- I BOUGHT YOUR DVD/PURCHASED A DOWNLOAD VERSION FROM INTERWEAVE.I
CAN'T FIND A HOLE ON MY COMPUTER FOR THE DVD/ IT DOESN'T WORK/INTERWEAVE
DOESN'T WRITE ME BACK/ CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING BECAUSE MY EYES
AREN'T GOOD, CAN YOU HELP ME? ALSO, CAN YOU JUST EXPLAIN WHAT YOU DID IN
THE VIDEO?
-NO.
-Long answer: I did not film the video, I
am not in charge of its distribution, customer support, technical
support. On top of that, I never even watched the things because I can't
imagine anything more torturous than watching myself squirm in front of
the camera, the whole crew and the lights that made me sweat a lot. I
did those videos, they are out there, but they unlike my kits and class
materials, they do not come with customer support from me. Everything I
needed to say on any subject matter discussed is limited to what I said
on camera, which is contained in the video itself. Also, that was quite a
while ago and I did not keep notes. Much like an actor is not going to
provide technical support or answers regarding a movie they have done,
neither can I.
-I MISSED YOUR CLASS DUE TO BAD HEALTH, BAD WEATHER, BAD OMENS, WEDDINGS, FUNERALS, DOGATEMYHOMEWORK. CAN I JUST BUY THE CLASS KIT ANYWAYS?
So sorry. There are all sorts of extenuating circumstances and we are only human, but if I sold my current class kits to people who haven't paid for taking the class, why would anyone come and travel and terribly terribly suffer through my super boring classes and and pay for them too? Me not selling my class kits on the side ensures that bead stores stay in business, bead shows happen, bead societies don't fall apart. So please don't take it personal, but no.
-I MESSAGED YOU ON FACEBOOK ALL NIGHT LONG/ALL WEEKEND LONG AND YOU ARE NOT ANSWERING MY QUESTION FOR DAYS. YOU PROMISED TO HELP. WHY AREN'T YOU HELPING?
I am sorry. Even though I am a person, and a person that likes people, there need to be some boundaries because I am also a business, and like you don't work 24/7, I don't either. In general I will answer questions that I know require my attention in a timely fashion. But if your question can be answered in a second by google, and you are messaging me when I am not working, I will not answer it. Furthermore, Facebook messages pile up and get buried, they are not the right way to communicate about business matters. Email me and I will answer you during my office hours.
