A well edited itty bitty: Forbidden Fruit

This is an easy peasy super fun summer breeze of a project. You can sit back in your comfy chair with the AC on, OR grab that beach chair and something cool with ice cubes, and let's bead together for a lazy summer afternoon.

Don't let the size of this project fool you: some of the best things in life come in small packages, not to mention that I tend to think that the most important skill for beading is editing. It's really easy to pile on component after component. It's much harder to add only the right ones.

A pendant resembling a little fruit that is not too big or not too small hangs from a beautiful cord that is either velvet, silk or lambskin covered depending on the colorway. The pearls used are all vintage: freshwater pearl quality these days is not the same it was a decade ago unfortunately.

This is a bead embroidery project without any foundation: you will be directly stitching onto itty bitty shiny shimmery lambskin leaves.

This project comes with beautiful cords made in Europe. Some of them are velvet covered, some are lambskin and some are silk covered. Look at the pictures to see which is which, or keep on reading the description of the different colorways:

Golden Afternoon is the rose-dusty gold-silver colorway. The cord for the ring is a pastel animal print lambskin covered cord. The cord from which it hangs is a creamy colored velvet cord. The button is a silver color moonface button. The two large Czech beads are opalescent pink in a lighter and a much darker, rosy shade.

Monet's Garden is the colorway that looks like a Money painting. :) It's teal and turquoise and purple. The cord forming the ring is silk covered while the cord it hangs from is super soft lambskin. A small dark AB Czech button completes the kit. The Czech beads are both opalescent glowy light purple.

The Garden of Good and Evil is the dressiest of the three colorways and it's decked out in rich green, purple and black. This colorway features a more substantial cord than the other two: both cords are covered in velvet and the button is a small dark Czech AB finish button.  The two Czech beads are contrasting shades of a pine green and a rich berry like purple hue.

The kit comes with a set of video instructions. You access these on my learning site. Many of you already have a login. If you don't, it's really easy. Once you create an account, this and any other course that goes with kits you have and also any free videos are permanently available to you. The video course is broken down into neat, manageable chapters, none longer than 20 minutes. Because the kit was only made with video instructions, there are no printed out instructions. Please only purchase this kit if you are ok with this because I will not be able to provide you with a printout. Neither can a video be printed out from your iPad, on a train, in the rain with a fox, in a box.

As for the video courses, if you download the Mighty Networks App, you will have access to the videos in this app on your phone. How cool is that? You can always just view them in your browser too, but the app is REALLY user friendly, definitely worth a shot.

Because of the limited nature of mostly my vintage pearl stash, this kit is only available in limited quantities. If everything sells out, I might go on a wild goose chase and harass people about old pearls, but there is a very good chance that I won't be able to get more.
