Alice Blue Elixir

Alice Blue Elixir is next in the line of skincare items I want to share with You All. This is also named after the legendary shade of blue that bears the name of the original badass first daughter, Alice Lee Roosevelt Longworth. She was partial to blue dresses and I am inordinately fond of her, so the name seemed like a good fit.

I would recommend this for night time use because it has absolutely wonderful for you yarrow oil in it, which is one of the two ingredients that give the elixir its lovely blue hue. Yarrow is calming, it is healing, it is a strong anti inflammatory, it is antimicrobial and it smells beautiful. But, in certain people it can cause light sensitivity. And we don't want to you to turn into a vampire, hence it would be ideal to use this at night. Most likely the light sensitivity issue would not effect most people, but for the one in so many who would get the issues, it's very worthwhile to point out that if you wear this at night, not during the day, you will only get the positive benefits of yarrow.

The first ingredient here is prickly pear seed oil.

Prickly pear oil is THE new thing in skincare because of it has many benefits for aging skin. A rich source of vitamin E and K, which protect against free radicals that cause premature aging. Here is an article for you to read

Then, we have plum kernel oil. Plum kernel oil is beneficial in skincare due to its emollient and antioxidant properties, rich in essential fatty acids like oleic and linoleum acids, vitamin E nd its ability to moisturize, protect the skin barrier an combat free radicals.

Tsubaki oil which is Japanese Camellia oil is another star ingredient: it's light weight, non comedogenic (non of the ingredients clog your pores in this or any of the my skincare), soothes and calms and improves skin texture.

The two essential oils that give the product its light but distinctively lovely herby scent are blue tansy and the before mentioned yarrow. Blue tansy is a very powerful anti inflammatory and its benefits are so numerous, you should read about it here.

So who needs this? And how is it different from the Alice Blue Dream cream? The cream, which is more like a balm is solid at room temperature. It has more ingredients. This is liquid and an oil with fewer ingredients. Read the ingredients. Do a bit of research. Consider what worked for you in the past. Consider if you would like something more velvety feeling- cream; or something more silky feeling-elixir. Do you have really dry skin? You might want both.

My aim is to do no harm and to empower my fellow women and any person beyond just women to take gentle, kind good care of themselves. I am going to keep on coming up with new formulas, some may appeal to you more than others. Trust your instincts. What we put in and on our bodies should be good for them, and good for the soul. I try to keep that in mind as I make these potions. Do you need everything I am going to post here? Nope. You can have them all, but it's not like you NEED all of them. Pick what speaks to you, give it a try, leave the rest.

There is 1oz of elixir in the pretty bottle with the pipette. I'd use a few drops of it gently massaged into my skin. In an upward motion as usual, counter gravity for good measure. :) This is not an eye cream, I would avoid the delicate area around the eyes. But it could also go on the neck and the decolletage.
